Hi. I have an 83 K100 but can't find paint code. It's a Jap import. I have heard of Columbia Silver or Polaris. It's a mid silver to me. Certainly not silvery blue or gray. I need to buy a stick to fix a couple of blemishes. Any ideas? Tks, Jim   Very Happy

I don't think you can get many/any of those from BMW anymore.  Computer paint matching these days is pretty amazing. Take a side cover to someone who does computer paint matching.

You won't get a close match on a stick but near enough might be good enough for small scratches etc.

Here are a couple of links to VIN and parts search sites.
Just enter the last 7 digits of your VIN

Realoem.com for a comprehensive BMW parts search.
Realoem.com - VIN/Part Search

This site will give you detailed stats about your specific machine including the original paint colour and code.

That looks like be Madison silver. Paint is no longer sold by BMW. In the US the best source is Colorrite.com, they list most Beemer colours, and they might post overseas. Post your VIN up and I'll check the big computer if it's still in their system.

its probably Maddison colour

paint code 605 for bmw bikes ...(not cars )

I have had some success getting paint made to match this colour code  from "Harts" automotive paints in springwood queensland

the colour is slightly lighter in colour than possibly the original , comparing it to smithys totally original looking bike in Maddison  and possibly kompys  fantastic machine ...could be sun bleaching though

anyhow, they have supplied me with acrylic for touch-ups and they put into a pressure pack after mixing up , get a fair quantity for $26

hope that helps

If you have a look at bmbikes.co.uk under the colour codes section for silver there are two listings for silver - Madison and Polaris.

I assume that the three number paint code located on the ducktail when you open the seat is missing?

Hi,
The paint code for Polaris silver is 576. Any decent paint factor should be able to mix this colour.
You will only have issues if you're trying to carry out a localised repair as new paint is unlikely to match older paint that ultra violet light and weather has affected. UV's will alter most colours over time so a full repaint might be advisable.
Trust me on this, I've been doing it as my job for 21 years.

Good luck.
