I stumbled on a very interesting site: (Basic Car Audio Electronics)
This site offers resources far beyond what you need to troubleshoot an electrical problem on your bike, but it has some very good pages on basic automotive electricity. Another interesting site by the same author (Perry Babin) is The Basic Computer Operation.
Have a look at this selection:

Basic fundamentals of electricity:
Voltage Definition and Volts
Current and Ampreres
Resistances and Ohms
Power and Watts
Ohm's Law (voltage, current, resistance and power)

Basic components
Wires and wires sizes
Fuses and Circuit breakers (yes I use them on my bike)
Switches and Relays and Controlling a relay with a switch
Resistors, Potentiometers and Capacitors
Diodes and Light Emiting Diodes(LED)
Alternator, Voltage regulator and Battery

Basic Series/Parallel circuits
Using a multimeter for basic testing
