Hi All,
One can buy self indicating fuses one good brand being Littelfuse ATO Smart Glow for example which have the great advantage for us motorcycle types that when they blow the LED lights up and shows immediately which fuse has blown. Very helpful on a dark night!

I have changed all of mine over to suitable rated versions, this one for instance happens to be a 7.5 A version http://www.littelfuse.com/products/Fuses/Aftermarket+Products/ATO+Smart+Glow+Pack+2/0ATO07.5VPGLO.html
Of course they do all the other values as well, not expensive either.

Yeah, they are neat jiggers, but since I'll still need a torch for any problem that doesn't involve a blown fuse, I reckon I'll keep carrying one. The LED ones available now throw out a very useful amount of light from a very comapact torch, powered by a couple of 'AAA's.
