Splines at 75K...looking good....ready to clean, lube and install. The splines(output and final) are the most important maintenance item on the 2V K bikes.

Whooaaa!

I really like you bike. It seems to be in show room condition (even with 75K)! ❤ Very Happy
Your garage seems to be well equiped too. I love to have a bike lift like yours. Maybe one day I will build one.

I have to agree with you about the splines. Greasing them is as important as changing the oil. I grease my rear splines evry 10K and my front splines every 20K.

I bought this K in 93 with 8K on the clock, and up untill my 1st son was born(05) it was my daily rider. most of the miles are city miles, with the first set of rotors worn out at 35K. At 70K, New water pump, radiator+hoses, Remus and head gasket, then a new clutch at 75K.

Age is definitly a factor on the cooling system of a 2V K. With the new cooling system the bike runs cool(normal) and the fan rarely runs. Before it was hotter and the fan would turn on all the time.

When it came time to get a new solo ride in '05. I opted not to replace the K100 with a K12, but get a new R1100S BCR. In short my K100 is such a great bike, I didnt need to replace it. I managed to put 5K on it in '07, and love riding it.
