Great looking bike. That's the red which should be used - not those horrible marooon shades.

What is the paint code under the seat, Xatzgiorgis?

Questions for the gurus.

is this how 89 naked Ks were kitted out or have a few things been changed?

The seat looks like the low one used on the K75T which also had those rubber sides on the tank.

The fluting on the radiator cowl ???????.

Anything else?  black FD ?

Welcome from USA!
I agree that is a beautiful bike.  The red just pops!
Unfortunately, I have the brick-red brick. But it runs very well.  Very Happy

Limited edition for Japanese market from what i can tell. Mine is 1988.

The seat looks like the low one used on the K75T which also had those rubber sides on the tank.
The seat is the same as the 75

The fluting on the radiator cowl ???????.
Tank is also a K75 tank and has a different surround than the standard or naked K

Anything else?  black FD ?
Black FD is a re paint I believe.
Headlight surround is different to the standard.
The rear rack is not standard. No holes drilled in the cowl originally.
Original handlebars are RT and chromed.
Muffler shield is chromed.
Apart from a few paint touch ups and the shock, the rest looks fairly original.

Have a look at Basic2's thread. Richard has a perfect example.

Check out Motocolon the forum. He liked the /2 so much he made his own.

No mirrors.
Mudguard looks like the pre-86.
Minor modifications.

Nice Red Kolour.

yes, read all those threads and I want one.

They are the nicest looking K around.

Has anyone tried to source one through the grey importers? How come the japanese have all the good versions?

it's like my GB.
the Aus market got the huckery looking XBR
The kiwis got a run of GBs in 1986 rather than the XBRs. but the japanese got this:

Greetings from Greece Comp_g12

Ducati style fairing (all imported 500s that came to Aus as grey imports were naked.
single seat instead of dual.

Now a rare bike.(in this form)

Hi Xiatisgiorgis,
Welcome. I've got a similar K100/2, built 11/87 & and an older version of Rossko's. Yours must be one of the last 100/2 built.

i have exactly the same model. Mine is also 87 , not 89 as i wrote at the beggining. After writing it i searched it through the serial number. i only changed the steering wheel. By the way , i lost the left plastic cover under the fuel tank (right under the BMW emblem). Do you have any idea where can i get one ???
