I see what you mean about the Starsky & Hutch stripe...

Looking tidy though (apart from the seat which can easily get re-covered) - when my seat went, I got fed up with the gallons of water that got absorbed every time it rains and then took until the next rain shower for it to dribble out back out again. Black masking tape works for a while, but that melts off as soon as it gets hot and it's back to soggy seat again.

Of course, if the seat is not damaged and it is actually part of the "art work" - then winding my neck in....

I like those Decals on the fairing and I've not seen them before. Do you know if they are original ?

sounds like you are really enjoying him, Becky, good to hear.
you are one up on me and have the better centrestand , so much easier to rock over than the original. just mind the soft spots.
graphix are a great way to individualise your ride , I went with pinstriping for Ol' Blue.
continue with the outings and enjoy.

Not original, apparently the guy who had him originally was very patient, looks like they were custom made. I didn't buy him because of the stripe, honest! :p centre stand was brand new two years ago as the last one snapped and his side stand is rather bent so don't use it, just take him off the stand, rest him against my leg and jump on! Same procedure for getting off, but does get difficult when hes fully loaded up though...

i think you will struggle with the stands if you dont sort it before you go. A fully loaded L T needs both stands to manage it. i think you can heat the side stand to sort it.

Side stands are not straight. There is a slight bend below the spring mounting point. Are you sure the side stand bushing is not worn?

I can't believe you didn't buy him for the stipes. I might have to get my starsky on and put some of those on mine when I repaint (In about 9 yrs time at the rate I'm going  Rolling Eyes ) .

I'd keep 'em - noting like a bit of idividuality!

yeah love the stripe, makes him look even bigger! a friend did suggest i got it put on my trousers too so it runs along continuously but i thought that was a bit far! it really was love at first sight, sat on him and gave the man the deposit (not the slightest bit impulsive!). As for side stand it is definitely bent, he looks like hes lying down, not too bad with the two inch block of wood hes about where he is supposed to be.

Been thinking of getting something custom for the panniers, starting to look a bit scratched and would love something a bit different for them (not pink and sparkly, anyone who suggests that will greatly offend! Razz)

about the sidestand, i straightened mine out by heating it up with a torch welder , with the bike on the centerstand and the side stand still mounted , and when red hot i just straigthened it out by hand, (please use a glove ).
it still leans more than most bikes , but  far less than before.

Having just done a centre stand swap with my donor bike, I now have a spare side stand if you want it. It will need a new bush (unless I can find where it went to in my come in handy box of bits) or use the one you already have - assuming that it is not too worn - they don't wear that much as they don't tend to be moved with load on them.

James Sherlock do them for £6.48 (bush) and £4.49 (bolt for 16V side stand)

I know you said that you don't like second hand bits, but it's there if you want it.

If it is of use to you...I'll take a pint of Guinness off you if/when we make it to Ireland in September!

Send me a PM with an address and I'll get it in the post to you as soon as I can. It's not heavy or bulky so shouldn't cost much to send.

It's not perfect, but might be better than the one you have - if it's not, then feel free to chuck it.

Definitely! Love that road some of the pictures were taken on. just a single track, some stunning views. Take a book up there, park up and just read for an hour or so. Love how friendly bikers are, only a few people use that road (6 in the hour i was there today)but every time a biker has passed they always stop toi make sure i havnt broken down!

You do realise you are expected to visit Craggy Island. Bikey will want his photo taken outside it.

I notice a black Armadillo follows Bikey, I see him in the photos, on the ground beside Bikey. Still can't work out if he is minding Bikey or 'washing his wheels'. You can have tea and scones at Craggy Island too. If you Google 'Glenquin' its in the Burren in County Clare.

Ha ha the armadillo keeps its eye on him and stops him pushing over smaller bikes when I'm not looking! And sounds like a plan! Anywhere else I should go?

Nice pictures, looks like a lovely road for riding, I'll go out for a little spin later today as well, have to decide wether I take the bicycle or the K, All the bikes need attention from time to time, maybe I'll take both out for a ride..

But bicycles are evil! Hurt myself more on a bicycle than i have on a motorbike (fingers crossed!) Tore the ligament in my ankle on a bicycle, did the tendon in my shoulder but that was on the moped so that dosnt count! Nothing beats the freedom of a motorbike, having all that power at the twist of your wrist!!

We'll have to disagree on that, I enjoy freedom on 2 wheels motorised and pedal powered, It's brilliant to twist the throttle and fly up a hill, and while the uphill on the bicycle is dreadful, the sense of achievement when you made it is very nice as well.

Could not resist the K today, went up to Galtymore Mountain and did a little hike there

My godmother lives up there, Glen of Aherlow. Its awesome. There are two campsites in the Glen, a few miles west of Bansha!!

Limerick or Cork to the Glen, Cahir, then on to the Vee, Lismore and Cappoquin, Dungarvan, eventually back to Cork.

It being Fathers Day my kids took me to lunch in Kinsale. www.tridenthotel.com. Otherwise I too would have been in the Glen of Aherlow. But first my son and myself checked out the R600 around the Old Head of Kinsale. Any golfers will need to check out the course at the Old Head of Kinsale. Its in the world top 100.

Sagi are you good for a camp trip to www.norevalley.com on Friday? I am planning to head off Friday morning just to be set up early. . .

Your other choice is take the A55 across to Holyhead. But the Liverpool route should be ok too. Make it a week is a good idea. Paul Lispcomb did a good route. Sagi knows a few good places!!

Sounds like a plan, although it it is quite a tough climb to get a good view of the lake, but loads of nice places on this island, most of them I have not seen so far.

This weekend I can't made plans to meet up with a friend from Dublin. But I'll join in for the August weekend, and maybe another time before that

I'm always up for a bit of exploring (usually end up down people's driveways by accident but sometimes it really pays off and find some stunning roads) love just going and getting lost! If all else fails can always ask a man for directions :p
