OK, they'll fit on 7/8" bars if I ream them out. Has anyone ever tried aftermarket hand controls and/or experimented with options that don't involve going to electrical/wiring hell? I figure the odds of modern hand controls plugging in to the existing connections under the tank are slim to none.

Also, if anyone is selling new hand controls please let me know! I figured I probably should have reamed them out after I got one stuck on new superbike bars and basically cut it off with an angle grinder to show it who's boss...

Adapting Japanese bike controls to BMW K-bike is possible but it is definitely not plug-n-play. Read this and this for useful information.
