Gents (and ladies).  My wife and I are hoping to travel your fine country next June.  Most of our time will likely be bicycling around, but I'd like to get in a day on a motorcycle while I'm there.  Any thoughts on where I could hire a moto - preferably a BMW - and the best place to ride?  Thinking possibly Dublin for a starting point???

Check out this site

I have no experience of them but live close to them and have seen lots of BMW's parked outside their premise's. I am happy to go out and check them out.

These guys are based in Wexford and I know they also hire out bikes. I have used them for transporting my k's to Europe and am happy to call them for you.

I live in Dublin (close to the Airport) and am happy to pick you up (if around) and bring you to any Dublin location that may suit you.

We can also probably organize a ride out with you if you do manage to hire a bike and show you anything you want.

Bicycling around is rather nice but beware Irish roads are not all great for bicycles compared to other countries. We do have some excellent cycle routes and more are being introduced on the old unused railway networks. Our mountain regions are fantastic too but on a bicycle can be hard work but so worth it.

Should be here in June, good to meet up.

If you are cycling here the old fashioned cape that drapes over the handlebars is by far the most useful thing you could have.
