Hi guys, just thought I would have a quick brain picking session with you.

1) I have been looking around for the cheapest fuel filter for my K. I have found interchanging part numbers from lots of manufacturers but some of the filters are plastic. Will they handle life in the fuel tank?

2) What is the best place (cheapest/fastest) to get the round gauze filter that goes on to my fuel pump when it arrives?

3) Am i right in thinking that the fuel lines that I need to redo my tank are 8mm and 5mm, also can I bend straight hose around to meet the filter or am I better off replacing it with a genuine part from BMW?

4) I have ordered a Spal fan and will mod the old fan to fit Mr Spal into the housing. Despite hours of searching, I cant find the fan wires from the relay. What colours are they and what relay do they run from? If I locate the relay I can follow the wires and hopefully they will terminate in a plug. I have the plug from the fan but nothing to plug it into Mad

1) NAPA 3032 in the US.  No idea in OZ.

3) The BMW internal fuel lines are just straight lines, not "pre-bent" like the external fuel lines.  But you need to replace them with submersible fuel line.

4) Violet/yellow and brown.  Flat black 2 wire connector under left side of tank.

You don't need to mod the old fan, you can just install the Spal fan directly: http://www.kbikeparts.com/classickbikes.com/ckb.tech/0.ckb.tech.files/fans/fans.htm

Don't even think about plastic filters they explode. Use a Ryco Z200 for VL Commodore but any steel or aluminium filter that takes 8mm or 7/16in lines will usually do the job but be sure it can physically fit in there.
AFAIK OEM filter basket for the prefilter. I don't use them but use the type that fits on a spigot on the bottom of the pump and use a pump to suit like this

Fuel line is SAE30R10 8mm

Fan relay function is from Temp switching relay

Fantastic.

1)Found a Sakura filter that will do the job. Got 2 from Flea Bay. $16.10 each.

3) Are the skinny breather hoses 5mm? Mine melted with ethanol poisoning. I will get a couple of meters of 8mm because I am searching for a small power steering cooler to fit as a fuel cooler.

4) Thanks for the tip on the fan Duck. I found the plug. He was hiding under the CDI.
