Am I out of touch with the cost of spares  ?

So a rear left blinker is worth a $100.00

I thought that was ripping the piss until I checked Motorworks. £80.53 for a spanky new indicator; that's A$162.16.

Dai while travelling on Holidays in Victoria I was chasing up K75s parts. I was quoted $180.00 Au each for two front indicators from one wrecker. Another wrecker quoted $180.00 Au for a fuel cap. I declined on both counts. Am I out of touch with the cost of spares ? 314318

Spare parts are worth what someone will pay.

Ebay prices are all over the map and not a good gauge. I see them vary from being higher than BMW MSRP to next to nothing.

Rick is right.  A part is worth what someone will pay for it. (The first rule of economics.)

Agreed.  I keep a pretty close watch on what's on ebay and good deals can be found, but they don't last long.  Meanwhile, there are uninformed dreamers asking ridiculous prices for parts.  I suppose if it's an emergency someone might be willing to pay the OEM price for a dirty, worn used part.

Unfortunately, it seems that BMW N.A. is among the group cranking spares prices into the stratosphere.  At least their stuff is new.
