I just saw this picture in TWB`s roadtrip thread.

Is that some kind of spacer? Dscf1310

Hope you don`t mind me snatching it TWB......(It`s a great pic!).
Is that some kind of spacer inbetween the faring and mirror?
That would greatly improve the rear view as I mostly see my own elbows.
Was that fitted on later models? Mine is an -88 RS.
Any info is appreciated.

From a K1100RS, it's a mirror spacer necessitated by my wider handlebars. You have to drill an extra hole in the fairing panel but they mount easily and pop off just the same as the original way. Motobins sell a kit at a reduced price. I bought them with a stack of filters and such, saving some hard-earned dosh on shipping costs. Here's the link:

Also on K 100 RS of 1990 vintage a brilliant idea, I have even thought of adding a second one to push the mirrors even further out. This has been discussed before on this forum by the way.
