Hi I have been through a bunch of stuff bringing my k100 up to par, now I have a new noise at some, cold start ups, it sounds sort of like the sound made when you pinch off the neck of a balloon, and make it squeal but deeper, I was wondering if any one has heard a fuel regulator make any noise, or if the one way valve in the tank could, it seems to be from that side of things, it is very brief so it is hard to track down , I put a known good fuel pump from k75 in and still does it. any thoughts?

Thanks

Used to get a whining noise a lot of the time. Then the wife stopped riding on the back of the bike and it stopped...

Have a listen HERE ; the middle button.

Buttons:
1 - Loose rivets of the drive shaft
2 - Return valve in the fuel tank
3 - Air leaks (you can simulate this by running the bike with your oil fill cap removed)

With great thanks to our German colleagues of the Flyingbrick forum!

Yeah, I'm thinking something to do with the fuel.
Not a pinched hose in the tank? But that wouldn't be a brief.
Something resonating (vibrating) in the tank?

Thanks . the recorded noise site is pretty good, it may well be the middle button, fuel return. if that is so just leave it alone?

lots of folks have had the valve in the tank (if you could call it that ) in the return line from the regulator ...make some noises ....i wonder if yours is just a different version of the same as i get .

also just recently a fellow member spied a hose clamp on the top of his fuel pump unclipped from where it should go .......thinking that blowby out of the hose around the pump outlet could be a possibility ...especially if the fuel filter is partly blocked ...

worthy of further investigation yankeeone
