Yesterday morning, I woke up on a totally frosted Lily pad. It was a bit nippy and the temperature was in the negative at -2°C. Called my buddy riding the big orange Harley, but he declines my invitation and preferred to wegg in front of the fire place sipping coffee. I guess the orange pumpkins stays in the garage after Halloween. Very Happy
It was the perfect weather to test my new Gerbin electrical gloves. Yes, they work great and my fingers stayed nice and warm the whole day. Heated grips are great, but it only warms the inside of your hand. I tried both (grips and gloves ON) and it leaves me the feeling that I could ride by -10° without being affected by the temperature.
After warming up my tires, I met 7 other crazy friends and we went for a 300k ride. For the whole morning, we didn't see any other bike on the road.

At our first coffee stop, we met few car collectors certainly having their last drive for the season.

Along the coast, the wind was gusting at 40k and it was sometimes hard to keep the bike in line. What I noticed, is that I was more affected by the side wind than the bike.

The water was very rough along Scots Bay and nobody was on the beach.....

We had few other stops but didn't venture on the trails (Do we look like deers?) Evil or Very Mad

The K100rt is the perfect bike for a fall ride. When the temperature was only 1°C outside,it was a toasty 8°C in the inside of the fairing.

Hopefully, this won't be the last ride before the snow flies. Electric clothes are a wonderful invention!

Sounds like a good day Bert, I suppose you have to make the most of the riding season. We get 13 months of the year here to ride though where I am does get a wee chilly in the mornings in winter but nothing a good set of gloves doesn't fix.

Nice report and pics CF!

I live in a colder part of Oz, and although I have heated grips, I concur with your observation that they only keep the inside of your hands warm, and will add that the tips of your fingers don't really get the benefit of the warming.

I may have to look into heated gloves next winter...

The K Bike looks great there CF, I like that green and the little Decal on the front fairing.

I was out for a spin on Saturday here and it was very cool about 3c but in behind the LT fairing I was feeling a little smug when I bumped into a friend of a friend who had to rush off becuase he didn't want to freeze after dark on his trail bike! First time I've ridden the K after dark and isn't the headlight great on them?

I bought them from a friend because the power on its bike couldn't handle extra load.
They come from Gerbing.
I even found on their website a picture of my friend's Harley:
That's what's happen when you don't bring the bike back in the garage by midnight. Cinderella turned it back to its original shape Very Happy

That's beaut, Bert. It reminds me of my time in frigid New England (Massachusetts and Vermont) when I'd do my traditional Halloween (cooling off), Thanksgiving (frosty), Xmas (frozen) & New Year's Day (clearing the hangover) rides.

This morning as I'm about to depart for work the birds are singing, the windows and doors are wide open, the air is clear, the sky blue and the temp about 23 degrees already after having dropped to 19 overnight. It will climb to 30 today and the sun will be warm upon our faces. I removed my heated grips (shoddy aftermarket brand) within the first week of owning the bike as they're nice but there's no real need for them here in SE Queensland.

I suppose for those of you in the frozen North this time of the year is great in that you have a lot of garage time. This might be why so many of you have such refined mechanical knowledge and skills, and why your bikes are so shiny and new-looking.
