Well, at 66K miles I knew it was time to pull apart the starter motor and clean it out. Got the new brushes for that (finally). And after seeing pics of wear on the Alternator brushes, ordered a new set of those: complete, the whole mounting plate with brushes installed & new diode, only US $32 delivered from

http://www.euromotoelectrics.com/Bosch-Alternators-and-our-Exclusive-EnDuraLast-Charging-Kit-s/1.htm

Already have a new battery on the trickle charger. Now just find a free afternoon and this should be a quick job.

Good link BadjerJim, thanks for posting it. It's a job I have planned for this winter. But famous last words "should be a quick job"...!

BadjerJim, can I make a suggestion?

In your post or Post title, can you mention what bike you're talking about please?

This helps other who may have the same model as you.

Thanks,

Also translates to 'good for you'.

My old workmate Harold from Texas jokingly said when he heard me say goodonya to someone at work,

"In Texas when we all say 'goodonya' we're complimentin' a perty woman on 'er dress." "It looks good on ya!"

Will do. The part in question fits all K bikes, didn't occur to me to clarify.
