welcome aboard desert

yeah some folks get confused by the barge like steering, the heavy weight , the impossible length of legs requied to to keep the old girl upright ...the ancient design electronics and the low output power ...and over engineering

but ...

being honest, there arent any disadvantages at all , once you get the suspension back to good ...some new tyres and some periodic maintenance done .(often forgotten for years )the old girls sparkle .

the old brick is amazing machine ...still quite capable for a seriously long journey ...able to demolish a brand new ninja (up to 750) at any speed you care to mention , at a whim and a quick right hand ...parts still plentifull ...and cheep (if you look in the right places ) ...have a think, we have found opening up the zorst gives really good results ...and riding a standard seems ho humm after ,;

but shhh we dont want folks knowing this stuff else their monetary value will increase, and the consensus of devalued opinions by others will be found out to be false ....

hope you enjoy your ride, like us down under .

sorry i must explain ....aussies have a particular lazyness for pronounciation correctly durring conversation ...so we drop "h" s wher ever we can and other sylabils if we recon its not needed to explain what we're thinking

so a good example is present ....."exhaust" becomes "zorst " but only after modification ..try and get your head around that one ....grin

some explanation can be found in this thread .

OMG. We might call them bricks, but that doesn't mean you can build a house on them.

Awesome.

Thats not overloaded mate...you can still fit 2 dozen chickens on there....in fact it just looks cubed out not all that heavy...imagine a chunky pillion and you can see that you are fine with that lot.

I think you will be very happy with the K....we are....

Yeah the Diamond python sure is a beautiful creature, when I was a kid (now that's a long time ago) my brother and I could go down along the creek that ran past the village and find a dozen or more in less than 1/2 an hour. Any of then would be at least 8 feet and I remember one that was over 10feet with an enormous bulge in the middle where the latest prey was.

We certainly have a wonderoud collection of wildlife here.
I live right in the middle of the bush and see a lot of these things on a daily basis and yet am still amazed with it and just love living here.

I have done a lot of work in rural NSW with the railways and I have only ever seen 2 brown snakes and a bunch of black snakes in 7 years.
You really have to look for them to find them.

But drop the 'r'. It's not pronounced 'ex-oRst' like what the typical American tongue does to the letter 'R', but more like 'zaw-st', with a very soft 'r'. Well, then there's that other American thing where the 'aw' gets opened up wide like the dentist is ready to drill. So that won't work either. Guess we'll have to work out how to tape record a bunch of Aussies from the forum, drinking beer and saying 'zorst'. It could be funny but it could be zorsting.

Yet when I had a Korean exchange student staying with us on the base the only thing he was scared of was snakes and spiders ( according to his biography) so when I pointed out a red belly black snake in the front yard he said " that is not a snake it is a garden hose" I asked him if his garden hoses moved on there own in Korea too.....At least if you have red belly blacks, that are timid, you will not have any browns who are aggressive....by all accounts we have the most dangerous snakes in the world that keep largely to themselves.
