Put on my headlight relay kit and now the right side of my dash has no lights.
Oil, charge, choke work. Headlight and indicators work. Horn works.
Just the clock light and the 2 or 3 others on the right side are kaput.
I thought maybe I missed an earth being replaced but all seems to be ok.
Electrical diagram is very pretty, but it is not helping me atm.

did you make earth connections on the frame under the tank ?

perhaps you forgot to put one under the bolt (eye terminal )

there are 2 earth paths going to the instruments on the connector strips ....um pin 6 and pin 13 from memory

thats 1 on each side of the connector ...i wonder if one of them is a bit dicky ?

there has been a post in the forum about the connectors not sure if its in the efi trouble shooting page ...worth a look ...else pm me and ill send it to you

Re-checked the earths under the tank as I did remove them to add one more. They are all on the left side of the frame and all seem to be tight and right.
Maybe with all my fiddeling I broke, stuffed or just plain old *&^% one of the connections.
I have the tank off again and turned on the ignition and rummaged around as hard as I could to try to upset something but alll the connections seem firm and good.

Solved.

Some idiot found some LEDs and put them in one side of the panel.

6.3v pinball LEDs don't go too well with 12v.

Who wooda thunk it.

I take my hat off to you folks, I wouldn't have a clue where to start other then the obvious things like - Did I get the connections right?

What does a headlight relay do for you?

It makes your headlight bright enough that you dont have to walk round the front of the bike at night to check.
It actually takes a big load off the small and just adequate switches on the handlebars and makes the light brighter
