I am waiting for a new front master cylinder and would like to know whether to bleed the master cylinder

itself, prior to connecting the brake hose.

I could bolt  my original hose to the new unit and dip the end back in the reservoir and bleed it,  or just connect

everything and pull fluid through .

Anyone found a benefit to bleeding the Master cylinder first ?

Bob

None whatsoever. Connect it all up and bleed in the usual way (the hydraulic system, not you! Very Happy ).

Thanks Dai,

All fitted and bled with a nice firm feel to the lever.

With new braided hoses up front too, cannot wait to try them out, once the bike is back on the road.

Going to look at a 1996 k1100lt.se tomorrow  in York advertised on gumtree.

Had nine previous owners , but the last for 5 years so fingers crossed.

Bob

You will likely come home with the K1100LT.

Darn nice machine.

If headers are not cracked buy and fit new mounting rubbers. They all crack eventually. A few K1100LTs at K Fest, 2 with Remus exhausts on...... Two nice Highline models too..!

96 will be ABS 2, as in modulators not down at the footrest hangers.
