Motobins/ Motorworks stock bars for the 8v, but not the 16v.

I wonder why? Thought it was the same dimensions

I can't tell you why, but i'm sure they're different. The crash bars i have on my K1100 are sligthly different by the way they're fixed on the engine.

Perhaps they thought none of the 16 valvers would get dropped

I think it has to do with the underbelly pan fitted to the 16Valve would get in the way of the bottom mounting.

I figured the bellypan could be strategically drilled.

I have a copy of an early Ride magazine (UK Bike mag) that has a picture of an 8v with crash bars with a belly pan. It looked good.

If I can get hold of a scanner Ill put it on here, cos it was a whole buyers section on bricks and made for good reading. Very positive.
