Just bought a K1 in Germany. First registered June 1992 with just under 30,000 miles on the clock. Owing to travel restrictions due to Covid it'll be some time before I can collect it to ride it back here to Andorra. I had a K1200S when they first came out and am on my second K1300S.

Welcome Welshman in Andorra.  I'll wager you're the only member here who calls Andorra home.  I hope you are faring much better than many Spaniards are now.

We are doing Ok because the government here - unlike Trump - paid attention to the health professionals and we went into lockdown on March 12th. As a result we enter the first stage of lifting the restrictions on Monday.

That's good to hear.  Spain and Italy have really taken it on the chin lately, and Andorra is right there in the middle of some of the worst of it.  Stay safe!

I'm in agreement with Welshman. That is a statement of fact and not a political opinion, although I agree that it could be (mis)read as such and could also be applied to the UK government.

Here's some facts:

Trump is not a dictator. He has left stay at home decisions up to state governors.

He imposed restrictions on travel from China at the end of January.

He established The Corona Virus Task Force on January 29.  (It has scientists on it.)

Saying Trump doesn't listen to scientists is an opinion.  And it's not substantiated by facts either.

Welkome Welshman. Glad you have found our quiet little K bike forum. I hope it's to your liking. There is a whole heap of useful information and some good mates with cool bikes contained herein.

We do try so very hard to be welcoming and to keep the focus on motorcycles, specifically of the BMW K bike kind. There's room elsewhere in the vast internet for comments, opinions, statements of fact or of fancy that stray from our sole focus. My comments aren't directed at you in particular, but only serve to remind that we earnestly strive for a certain level of decorum between members.

Thanks for joining up, once again, and please enjoy the forum.
Good evening 112350

Another fact:

Donald Trump listens to scientists who are affiliated with the opposition party, as are most of the bureaucrats who run the government agencies that are handling the situation.  He is essentially just a public figurehead instituting their policies.  His main function is to pull strings and get things done, like getting a hospital ship scheduled to be in refit for 3 months finished in 11 days.

Their names, credentials, and political contributions of the bureaucrats is public record.  If you don't want to accept my word on it, you can look them up.  CDC, NIH, and FDA.  StartPage is your friend. (they don't track you like Google)

Welcome Welshman! Sorry you've kinda kicked a hornet's nest but we'll stomp it out promptly.  Embarassed

I pray and expect you'll find the forum an excellent source of amusement and real substantive help, as I have.  Very Happy

As an aside, guys - These kind of arguments *never* have a winner; it's impossible to have a political or religious debate over pretty much any electronic media. So please let's not dredge that up here.
