There are differences in K100 driveshafts, too. Best to post the year and specific model in your signature line so we can assist with telling which d/s you should source.

The spline at the rear is quite different.

As said you really need to post the type of bike, year, VIN in your signature.

As far as I know you are looking at three different types just for K100.

Early K100 2v engines have 16 spline driveshaft. This includes naked, RS and RT.
Later K100 2v engines and K75 have 20 spline driveshaft. This also includes naked, SE, RS RT and LT [I am not sure if K75 and K100 are interchangeable]
Later K100 4v engines have Paralever final drive and a different driveshaft. This includes RS but not LT/RT.

Due to the age of the Ks and the increasing likelihood of a final drive having been changed by a previous owner you need to be careful between 16/20 spline driveshafts. 16 spline final drives are getting scarce and RS 31/11 and RT 32/11 on early Ks can get changed to later 20 spline units. If you pick up a matching driveshaft and its final drive unit it will go straight in to yours. No change at the gearbox end.

My K100 is long gone, due to a bad fabricator. It WAS an early build 85 K100. I bought a swingarm and final drive off Ebay, separate auctions. The final drive I have is a 20 spline. I had a swingarm modified (incorrectly, as it turned out) to fit an airhead frame. The driveshaft had a bad u joint. I had Bruno replace the u joint. I asked him if he could put an airhead flange in the driveshaft. That ultimately led to two problems. I had him put a greasable u joint on the shaft. The welds were quite large and the u joint doesn't even fit the opening at the front end of the swingarm. I had a K swingarm modified, correctly, this time, and now need a stock swingarm that fits the 20 spline final drive, since a front spline adapter is now available. This will allow this mongrel to be fit to my R90 sidecar rig, with the ultimate goal of running car tires all around.
