Trying to get the temp gauge to work. Checked fuses found them ok. Checked voltage at the gauge was only getting 10.5 vdc. Should I get 12vdc there? What I did see was after doing this it looked like the gauge needle was trying to move when power was turned on. Wasn't doing this before.

Also have any of you tried the quick disconnects for fuel lines to the tank?

Thanks
Bill

Yes, you should have 12VDC at the gauge. If you have 12VDC at the gauge and ground the brown wire the needle should fully deflect to the right. Grounding (to frame) the wire at the temp sender by water pump will do the same thing.

I haven't but it is something I have thought about. PITA draining gas and removing 2 fuel lines to remove the tank.

Thanks
Bill

Thanks RS rider. I am going to need to track down the low voltage issue. Could also need a new vdo sensor. Not sure if PO put a new sensor in when the vdo gauge was installed.   Need to figure out what sender is in it.

I think I am going to give the Quick  disconnect a shot. As much as I have had the tank off lately it will be worth it. It is a pita!

Thanks again.

Make sure you get metal ones. There's a lot of sheer stress on the QDs when the tank is lowered into place and the fuel lines fold up.

Temp gauge is working. Turned out to be the sensor/sender. Spoke with the folks at VDO gauges and found that sensor was a VDO 323-088. the one that came out was nowhere near what went in. Working great with the new one.

Thanks again for the help
