Hello all, I am back in the land of K after a few years in the wilderness.
I recently bought a 1989 K100rs at an auction. Excited, a little anxious, and happy to be on this forum again. 
I couldn’t remember my previous id.
I will get the bike next week and begin to see what shape it is in.

Thanks for those replies! I am really looking forward to the K adventure continuing. My last was a bit of a basket case. This one has 48k miles so we shall see… it’s in original condition. I guess the ABS will be shot and need deleting? My “other” bike is a 79 R100 WITH ABS…Avoid braking suddenly…

Definitely! The idea of 1970s ABS standing for “Avoid braking suddenly” came to me one day when my front wheel skidded out from under me at less than 5 mph on a greasy surface when I stupidly tickled the front brake while turning in a car park! And I started riding 40 years ago… Very embarrassing and never again.

Neal you were in my thoughts at the weekend....I was in Antwerp for the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra Mahler 4 conducted by Elim Chan on Friday night as in 22nd March and you came to mind. Of course it was preceded on Thursday night by the Czech Philharmonic under the baton of Semyon Bychkov who my daughter knows quite well and which we also took in.

It's great to see you back here, since we last chatted I have added another two Ks to my lot and currently overdue a visit in your direction. A coffee at some point could be good.

Thanks for this Olaf! That all sounds good! I sang with Semyon Bychkov last year in Madrid (Tristan production at the Teatro Real). He did a fantastic job and was lucky at one point in the dress rehearsal when he leaned back and the rail broke causing him to fall backwards off the rostrum. Nearly a very nasty accident! He recovered amazingly quickly and then conducted the epic third act! Well, if you are in my neck of the woods, get in touch.

Hello all,
I spent a bit of time with the new K today - just an opportunity to do a superficial check over and take some photos to study etc. Cosmetically, she's in pretty good nick. One mirror is off but I do have it. There is no front brake I was told by the guy who drove it to my neck of the woods. All the bits appear to be there, just no resistance in the lever at all. There was plenty of fluid in the reservoir though it looked like Bovril. The brake hoses all look in reasonable condition. The callipers looked pretty seized up and will need a good clean.
The coil cover has a key hole for a cylinder key. Not sure I have it and wonder if they can be obtained.
Anyway, it was a small start and hopefully I'll have more time soon to do more.
