Goodness knows how many hours the forums`most amateurish-mechanic has spent in the shed this past year; it is with some degree of relief that at last Mr K is once again back on the road. Notable thanks goes to Ajays recommendation re the hammerite aluminium treatment,and to the video of how to replace the rear output shaft seal ,amongst many other clues and tips for which many of you are very responsible and have proven so, oh yes, so much useful. There we are, thanks a lot.

I must admit that I first became seriously disinterested in photoshop about 10 minutes after opening it in 1998 for the first time, as even then it was far too complicated for the likes of me to use ! So i am delighted to say for the purposes of the above pic I relied upon not only the sun but a little fill-in flash on my 1993 olympus is-2000 slr 35mm. The result has indeed been flattering, but still the Hammerite smooth silver painted over a layer of hammerite special metal primer has improved the overall appearance.
For our friends who too have to take the whole back end off to replace the rear output shaft seal , why not paint it up if needed.

Fabulous bike. Did you have to use a primer on the aluminium , I've been checking it out and they say to use a primer on non ferrous?
