Found a few stray K bikes in my quiet lil country town of Kingaroy this morning. TWB,Charlie99,Blakey. It took less than ten minutes for one of my fellow workmates to notice new bikes in town and he left a voice message for us. I will upload it soon. So we went for a ride up the ancient and cooler Bunya Mountains There is a few short, but fun roads up here with great views. There is limited vision in places and the Flora changes quite rapidly as you ascend. It is also just a nice place for a visit.

The stray K's. The breed of RS seems to be popular.

And the "Yarraman" Which I think our happy snapper did not notice.

The lovely barista named Judy at the café in the Bunya Mountains musta put something strong in Blakey's coffee. Either that or he's celebrating his 'new' panniers after a long search. They look good from a metre away, too.

Strong coffee or not, the 'locals' were unimpressed...

Four K's and their riders atop 1107m high Mount Mowbullan on a slightly overcast but mostly fine and warm Spring day.

Looking due North from the Bunya Mountains.

It was a great, all day ride with Charlie and I meeting at 6.30AM for a mad motorway dash (weren't there heaps of badge-wearing, road safety technicians pointing their laser speed guns our way!) to Woodford for a meet up with Blakey, then onto picturesque Kingaroy and the Bunya Mountains to catch up with Alby and Nicky. Some great roads, fine weather, a good look around, and then another mad dash home, through the Wivenhoe Dam region back towards home for Charlie and I - for me to catch the penultimate MotoGP race at Sepang, Malaysia. It is sad that the excellent riding day ended with the untimely death of a young and upcoming racer. Life is fleeting. Enjoy your family and friends right now.

well what a great days ride .

for us brissy guys (TWB and myself) about 600k travelling

happy faces around a few cafes along the way , and a great way for alby to tell his friends that , there are others around that ride the awesome "k" bikes ,,,,albys phone message was verry amusing...

a presentable pic of the crew

4 K Bikes on the Mountains. Pictur38

from atop of a small hill that overlooks the township of kingaroy ...and the surrounding area ...gave an awesome view of the layout of the country side .

4 K Bikes on the Mountains. Pictur39

i must admit that i have never travelled that route upto the fantastic country side ...

the view as we hit the plateau was awesome ,,,aproaching nanango ( a little east of kingaroy ) we were greeted with fantastic vistas of deep red volcanic soil plouged up ready for planting alongside fields of wheet and many other crops ....the whole patchwork of this was qute eye pleasing

the "bunya mountains " ( a part of our big ridge that starts in the far north and extends to the far south of australia ) reflects the ancient landscape that we love to traverse .

just here we see "hoop pines" and "bunya" trees? ( an ancient pine ) that are more or less only found in the northern parts of our fine land aand interspersed with huge fig trees, strangler vines and others ... the whole deal is quite amazing as pockets of jungle break out amoungst the dry bush of the mountains

for me ....quite amazing

4 K Bikes on the Mountains. Pictur40

the shakeout run proved excelent ,,,with no real issues presenting themselves before out "big meetup " way down south next weekend and an timely occasion to get blakey out of the house

cheers guys ....its always awesome to meet up

woohoooo!!!

Yes we got a few looks and I got a few questions at work this morning. Seems a few people noticed us out and about. They liked the bikes.

Glad you blokes 'offshore' enjoyed 'em. We do have the space and the range to roam a fair bit Down Under. As Charlie said, the two of us managed an easy, relaxed 600kms from about 6AM to 6PM on Sunday.

I'm wagering there'll be a whole heap more great photos and interesting stories posted up here once this Araluen NSW ride and gathering takes place this coming weekend. Watch this space.

Is that a towbar on the white RS?

If so. Is it used and how well does it work?

yes it is a towbar. It performs very well. It is made for k 100 Rs buy THESE
guys. It bolts straight on to your bike. Towing a classic deluxe type trailer is a breeze.
