is located where? Is it the big black one in relay box with screws? How do you get to it? Do I have to remove the tank and if so how do I do that?Mad I've had the bike for just over a year and love it, today would have been a great day to ride and probably one of the last for the year...Help if you can.

The starter relay is in the box which is partly under the tank and is in the right rear corner. I has got screws others do not except to hold them in.
You can get at it by raising the rear of the tank and putting a chock in to hold it up.
PS To release the rear of the tank so it can be lifted there two post mounts at the very rear and these go downwards into two rubber gromets which are held on the frame in two tags. under these tags are two circlips that need to be removed. Most Ks no longer have these clips because they are a real pain to remove and replace so are left of and most of the time a firm pull upwards will pull the posts free of the gromets.
When replacing I use a smear of rubber grease to make it easier in future.
Hope this helps
Oh and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the helpful tips. Just finished up the repairs to the Starter relay and it did have the screws holding it in place. I was able to use a stubby 5/16 nutdriver to remove and re-install the relay. The relay was causing the issues I was having with the starter being engaded all the time. I also removed and cleaned the starter bushing being since I had lots of time on this sunny and warm Dec 3rd... The K100LT is now back to working order and put away till another warm day. Thanks again for the tips and I look forward to being apart of the forum.
