I have just finished draining my fork oil and found that the left fork oil looks almost new, but the right forks oil has come out looking a Dark Grey colour ! What could be the cause ? Should I be concerned ? I did not feel any handling problems and was just going the anual fork oil change.

Thanks, Ronnie.

Was it a metallic grey or had metal flakes ? if so indicates some wear inside or if its milky grey could indicate moisture maybe has been flushed with a water based cleaner and was refilled before thoroughly dry

Change both and see how it goes Ronnie. Water would be my first suspect.

Thanks All for the advice. found no metal shavings, more a milky grey .I think you are correct it could have been water. Will keep an eye on it.
