Decided to go with the product from BBY. Much better customer service and a reasonable price.

It depends where you are going to use it the Guard Dog moly from them only has 30% MoS2 in it from the label whereas the Honda grease has 60%. The addition of MoS2 to gear and drive oil is beneficial I believe but using WS2 (tungsten disulphide) is even better, I know Dow Corning with their MolyKote range of MoS2 additives used to recommend adding 5% to gearboxes after measuring the temperature before and after showing a notable drop in steady state temperature due to reduced friction. The cautionary point is that if the gearbox has car type synchromesh cones they will not work properly with MoS2 and the changes will become crunchy. I recall the embarrassment when I persuaded a friend to put Molyslip for engines into his Mini forgetting the gearbox shares the same oil, it immediately became crunchy, it took two oil changes to fix that and bring it back to normal.

Thanks K. Great info as usual. We made the same kind of mistake with a friends Integra that had a Quaife LSD installed in it. Do you happen to know if the WS2 has the same kinds of limitations with regards to syncrhos and LSD's.
Thanks,
OG

I strongly suspect WS2 will be worse because it is an even better friction reducer than MoS2 the results in a non LSD final drive should be excellent and I have not heard of problems with using it in "our" final drives however I shall start with MoS2 in my gearbox and if there is no problem I will try WS2.

Is it okay to add a trollop of the Honda 60 grease to the gearbox and or final drive, or must the moly in another formulation?

MUST be in another (liquid) formulation not a good idea to put grease into oil. There are a number of firms who supply liquid moly in the US not least Dow Corning and also Guard Dog Moly.
