Hi DeRodster, welcome along. Slide on over to the new members section and post an intro there in order to gain the full befits of the forum.

I'm doing some work with NUIM at the moment so will be over there from time to time on my K100LT.

Are you joining us up North for saturday's run?

Not me Rob mines Gold. SGMayhew has a VERY clean silver one with a more modern top box.

Sorry you won't make this one.

We'll chat about outline plans for the next one at the meet and then stick up a thread on on it.

Well, that's the weather sorted.
Bright and sunny for Saturday. Better wear something warm though.
Temperatures of 12-13c tops.
No problem to ruffy, tuffy K bike owners.

There may be a slight hiccup over our meeting venue, Cafe Chimes in Hillsborough.

Was speaking to the owner who tells me that the Cafe is changing hands this Friday. She doesn't see any reason why they won't be opening on Saturday but I thought we should have a plan B just in case.
I have to ring her on Friday morning to confirm what's happening for sure and I'll post the result as soon as I find out.

IF you turn up after 9 on Saturday morning and the Cafe is closed, carry on up the A1 to Sprucefield roundabout, about a mile further, and you will see a McDonald's on the right.
Follow the signs on the roundabout for Lisburn, go into the shopping centre car park and head up to the back to McDonald's and we can regroup there.

Don't think it will come to it, but at least you can get a hot drink and a leak after your trip up.

We would love to have you along if your plans/commitments change. I will be going up Friday afternoon, 88KE and myself are planning to leave from different places at around 3.30 or so and would be passing Dublin Airport about 4.30. Thats if you are staying over. I am planning on camping Friday and Saturday.

Great news Gerard. Look forward to meeting you on Saturday.
Rene was trying to make it from Scotland but unfortunately work prevents him coming over.
Maybe we'll go there next year.

Good news Gerard.

Pity about Rene, John but gazing across the Straits to Bonny Scotland may help germinate your suggestion for next year. It's a trip that's been in my bucket list a long time!

Sounds like the makings of a plan!I was to do a tour of the islands off the west coast of Scotland last year with some friends from the Isle of Man. Bike trouble stopped the trip for me, others had a fantastic trip. Have they opened the Ballycastle to Campbelltown ferry yet? It stopped some years back but I heard talk of it starting again.

Great memories... did the Hebrides, around the Highland, over to Orkneys, back to Wick and down to Inverness for the Highland Games 3 years ago. Since then, daughters keep watching out for the "beary-hairy" cattle Smile

Was easier that time as brother was living in Edinburgh, providing us accomodation for a while.

The only problem about a trip there that I could not go without the family which means a cage on my tail, trying to catch up with me all the time...
