I am looking for a mounting bracket for top case/backrest for my 85rs. Do you think you may have something that would work? My top case is the simple rectangular one that mounts to the small support on my ducktail, My case has a hole in the center of the bottom, and a twist pin with washer with lock pins that would go thru the hole and hook into some sort of bracket, which apparently vibrated loose and was lost. My case looks like it took a tumble, one of the corners was burned off. But I have the pin, case but no bracket. I would be interested in the bracket or the whole set up if you have it?

Exactly, I would also probably need part three, but as you said I will check the local dealer to see if they have it. I am voting for Kbike

Part #3 is attached to the bottom of the twist pin, turn the top case upside down to check.
(You also see a picture of the bracket in post #3).

Sorry but I am still using the center stand and just had it powder coated.Could not believe the amount of rust that fell out of it,but it sounds solid when I whack it with a hammer all over:D

Inge, Thanks for your help. It seems that my top case has a hole about 25mm in the bottom center. Perhaps this hole used to be smaller. There is no washer or any metal below. and the bracket is also missing from the bike. Perhaps, my whole topcase then is bad. I may be better starting from scratch, eh? Sounds like a detective story. Not sure what happened. ( My maternal grand father is from Tromso, up north.)

Once upon a time that hole have been 14mm, ....and part #3 is 18,5mm dia.

The only purpose for part #3 is to keep the pin in place, so you don't really need it
(just keep the pin inside the top case at all time).

The washer inside the top case is 40mm, so I wouldn't be that concerned about the bigger hole.....if the top case feels securely tight fixed against the carrier.

And Tromsø is far north Blizzard , I understand that your ma's grandpa did move over the pond.

thank you inga,

I will still look for the lower mount, which is missing. My mother's father, and mother Rasmus and Inga (Bockamo)Jensen came to chicago in 1917. For them it was like moving to the Mediterrenean I would imagine.

A bit fun with this old info, your grandmother got a nice name Razz ........by her surname,
I would guess she (or older relatives) have originated from Sweden.

During end of 1800's and early 1900 it was a lot of Norwegians that did emigrate to "over there" as it was very tough times in Norway with high unemployment rate.

Hi Inge (not Inga, sorry for my error), That was right, her side was originally from Sweden, half and half. Rasmus who was a shoemaker, began building homes on Chicago North Shore. He worked until he finally fell off a scaffold and broke his hip at 88 years of age. Both of them came from enormous families. My sister has gone over to meet some of the relatives. I must do the same. I also appologize to anyone who has to read this history, against their will. Embarassed

They are in very good shape, and black. For both it would be $270.00 plus ship. They are this cheap due to this model does not use a locking cylinder and inner retaining straps are worn out from age.Hinges and clasps are in great shape.

It does not look like prior owner used these much.

On my way to work and have Daddy Doos tonight. I can check items Tues. for you.
From memory no cracks in either, but I think L/S might have tab missing. It has been a year since I glanced at them. The color is a dark green.

OK, looked at covers. Left side is missing middle tab that slides on pin that is welded to frame. It has two little nicks that are not noticeable. R/S cove is like new,no blems and has all tabs.
$45 for L/S and $65 for R/S , plus shipping for both.
I can send pics if I have your email.
