My name is Marty just turned 48 started riding when I was a teen.  20 years of working, kids I decided to buy a bike and a few years ago picked up a Kawasaki KLR650 for very cheap that was sitting in a garage for 8 years, cleaned the tank, bypassed the safety features.  First trip on this bike was a few years back in April, got caught in two major storms, and it was freezing cold most of the trip.

Was determined to make it to Nashville so I tried again this last late September and rode even father to Memphis then to Nashville and home and it was really great.  The KLR is a fun bike, just too tall and light for when you have to jump on the highway.

I kept looking for a shaft drive bike and was almost going to buy an older Suzuki GS850G.  The seller of the bike was too far for me and just by chance spotted an ad for a K-100 special, no picture or price so I just gave it a shot and it was a very good deal.

Welcome Martyman.

Great to see another Canuck (slang term for people from Canada) on the forum.

Here in Nova Scotia, a lot of BMW owners have a KLR too. It seems to be a great bike(other than being chain driven).

Enjoy your stay with us.

Bert

Just thinking about Victoria makes me sleepy...When I was a kid we would go there for trips (grew up in Burnaby) such a laid back place.

Thanks BiG D transalp is a cool bike only seen one person at the Quebec vintage meet in my Avatar...

Hi Marty Welcome that was a great intro photos and all.
Gotta say, those SE were special editions in my eyes,
PLEASE don't change a thing. Few here in this forum
would disagree That K100RS  SE is a sweet looker.

Thanks Ghost I'm trying my best...so far everything looks well preserved, mainly cosmetic.  Have to say I wouldn't mind if my bike could turn into one that looks like this in the future?
