Hello Good Folks,

A K100 adopted me this weekend.  I'm going to perform thorough maintenance on her over the week starting with fluid replenishing.  I'll start with engine, transmission, and rear wheel drive oils.

So far I've found what I think are BMW Part numbers of the rings required for the oil changes.  Chime in if I'm wrong about the following:

ForkO-RingDrain Plug5,28X1,7831421458477
TransmissionGasket RingFillerA18X227119963300
TransmissionGasket RingDrainA14X18-AL7119963200
RWDGasket RingFillerA14X18-AL7119963200
RWDGasket RingDrainA14X18-AL7119963200
Oil PanPlugDrainM18X1,5-ZNS7119919143
Oil PanGasket RingDrainA18X227119963300
Oil PanO-RingFilter Cover88X311131460425

I'm already more familiar with my K100 than before I looked at the diagrams and part numbers that helped me compile the table above.  If anything the table will make it easier for me to purchase the necessary parts.

I found what I was looking for and will be calling my local moto-shops for price comparisons.  If I can buy local I will for a couple of different reasons: 1.  Support local shops.  2.  Convenience.

I hope this thread isn't more a waste of internet for old seasoned BMW owners\members than it is a useful one for future newbs such as myself.

Peace, Grease, and Gasoline.

Tony

Does anyone know the dimensions of these rings?  Also, part number for the Rear Wheel Drive rings?
Gasket ring A14X18-AL Part number 07119963200.  Same gasket ring for both plugs.

These are standard metric so you should be able to source them at other aftermarket auto supplies.

06 Gasket ring. A20X24-CU Filler.                 Where did you find this?
17 Gasket ring. A10X13,5-CU Drain.             Not used on your model.
Engine drain is the same as gearbox fill A18X22.

Thanks Inge. I appreciate the feedback\corrections and am curious of the difference.  Out of curiosity can you point me to your point of reference?  I'm looking for a Parts book.  Smile

I searched using criteria 1991 BMW K 100 RS at the following sites:

Thanks again.

I'm assuming your compiling this table to stock up on parts you plan to replace.  If so, ...

7119963072 is probably the gasket for the water drain on the water/oil pump.  I've never changed that part on either of my two K's.

I'm not at all sure what filler plug uses 7119963342 (first entry in the table).  If you mean it to be the water/oil pump, that is not a filler port.  Water is filled through the rad cap under the tank and drained through the water drain above.

I've never replaced the O-ring 11131460425 on either of my K's.  It could wear out, but I've never read anyone post their experience with such failure of this O-ring.

If you want to replace the oil drain plug (7119919143), then look at the magnetic one sold by these guys

Thanks robmack.  I took a look at the diagram I was using and you're right those first entries were for the oil pump.

Good to know about the O-ring for the oil filter cover.  I won't be buying that.  I'll look at the magnetic plug because I'd like to get one.

Now to search for fluids.  Smile

I'm using the following diagram to find the drain plug washer\gasket ring:

RealOEM is what a lot use.

Here is the list for a 5/1991 K100RS USA version. I took a guess on a month.

Thanks rosskko.  It seems that link uses the same engine and stock numbers as the three other links I previously posted.

Down here in Oz, I found a local supply for the alloy crush washers.  Try wurth.com.au  There are two stores in Brisbane, one at Acacia Ridge and the other at Ormeau (near where RossKo's red naked bike used to live).

The larger size was about $0.93, which is a bit cheaper than the dealer.  The kind people let me buy multiples of less than 100  Very Happy  I would bet they are made in the same place as BMW buy theirs.

I was intending to put this all up on a thread but alas my trip diary takes priority.

Just a thought if we want to get together for a bulk buy in the future.  Happy to do that at some stage.

Cheers, D

Thanks TacKler!  I appreciate the information and will look it up.  I'd like to have spare crush washers of various sizes around if anything for further maintenance and just in case incidents.  Smile
