Happy to report, I found where the V/gr wire went to. While obsessively looking through this website and in my Clymers manual... 1985-1997, page 238, figure 29... there it is, (on California models) wouldn't you know it that California would have something to do with confusion.

The two wires that I have been wrestling with are for a pressure relief valve, it shows right there in figure 29, a pressure relief valve with a male blade connector on the end of it, and just to the right of it is a blade for the ground or earth wire.

So thanks to Ajays idea that I was looking for something that wasn't there, so it was. Thank you, Ajays!
