I'll be there Friday afternoon and set up camp in the usual place. Over against the creek bank up past the big old log hauling thing.

You where right near us last year then rick ,we were next to that big tree, with the amount of rain we have had here overnight I'd think those creeks would be up a bit, but weather is a funny thing

Good plan Charlie. By the time you get out to the camp site there will be a few helpers there who can assist with your setting up camp and you could grab a couple of hours snoring before evening socialising.

Take it easy in the hours of darkness with all of that new found power coming out of Gerty. I assume Rick G is already at site if his plan worked out. I believe we may be getting a visit from a distinguished gentleman of German extraction who may have a bit of a limp.

See you tomorrow.

Cheers

My job has allowed me to have 99% of Fridays off work since about 1988 giving me a 3 day weekend most weekends since around '88.

I've now been transferred to another location and now must work on Fridays!  (At least for this semester).  So no getting to rallies on fridays for the moment.

Early start tomorrow, I should be there around lunch-ish.  I'm taking the Yamaha as it's a BMW rally, I'm a BMW club member and it's the most suitable bike to piss the GS people off Smile

Hopefully its not this wet:

Another fine weather Karuah Rally has been run and done.

Good to catch up with a number of the forum members. When I rolled in on Saturday morning after my epic 100 km ride from home (yes its a local event for me) Rick G had established our area on Friday as promised, so we settled back to await the arrivals. Al and Marie and sidecar dogs came around to greet us, our supply vehicle with the Grabau brothers aboard along with the necessities of life, ice and beer, were next to arrive so we were able to relax properly and await the arrival of Smithy and Charlie (who had the epic ride). They made it during the afternoon.

After a big day for Charlie it was necessary to rehydrate him so lets have a few beers! I noticed that Charlie has found a way of sneaking some beer out of a bottle into the bottom of his top box without removing the bottle top (not a trick that we all want to learn). Despite what Charlie might claim I suspect it might have had something to do with the rough road rather than Charlie's magic skills.

After none of us being successful in the raffle held Saturday afternoon we set about trying to get a fire going without Rosskko being present - luckily we managed it because I can only imagine the flak I would have received if it hadn't started for us.

No sign of Malcoops so if you were there mate it's 2 years that we have failed to find each other. Corro was there with his Spyder, good to meet up Paul.

Hope the guys heading north into a fairly hot day have a good run.

Cheers

I've already had a nap before unpacking. Bloody hot run home and I was in no shape to do anything.

Another good rally, great weather, great company.

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to a future KRR when I'm back home again.

I reckon you might post it on your 'resto' thread but if I might ask here.... How'd ol' Gerty go on a roadtrip of some length after the FPR upgrade?

Glad to hear that you took the opportunity for a rest on the way home Charlie. Better to get back a little late.

That was a big run in a two day weekend. Well done!
