Hi all, I am looking for a front mudguard extender to fit the two piece guard. It has a turn out at the bottom very similar to the rear mudguard oem extension which I have fitted and would suit the visual look better than the Motobins option.
Does anyone know who sells these?
Thanks

Way back....you could buy a extension for the front mudguard to the early K's
as a genuine part.
Probably it wasn't among the topsellers, was removed from the lists after a
few years.
Gonna be a very hard to find part, I would guess.

I got one recently from Motorworks. Its a generic one but had one previously and bought t to replace a broken one. Its not hard plastic like the rear one but its a good bet.

Or this one from Hornig in Germany.  Appears to be the same item as Motobins.

Thank you for the help everyone. I am aware of the extenda fender and will run with it if nothing else can be found. The old style really matches the period and will hunt about to see if I can find one. Beemer Boneyard have one pictured on the K75 on their home page but have not seen one for some time.

Well, it took a while and thanks for all the replies and advice. I finally located a guard extension in Canada. The owner posted it to MAXBMW who added it to an order of bits so it was freighted basically for free - depending on how you look at it.
Anyway, I fitted it up using two small stainless bolts to match the rear and I'm happy with the results

Couldn't find one that is made for my K100RS4V so I went to the dollar store and bought a $1 waste basket.  Cut an extension out of each side using the curve of the basket.  They are actually longer than the Extenda Fenda and cost only 50 cents apiece.
The savings paid for three nights out at the local pub. front mudguard extension 502531

Here is a thread from MB.C with photos and text describing this method of making an effective mudflap for K-bikes from buckets.

Thanks for the link Laitch!

What a marvellous cottage industry...throw on a BMW logo, knock-up a few with different colours, sit back and rake in the money!

cheers

Looks like I'm the only awkward g!t around here - I made mine out of 2mm stainless steel because I had a 2m x 1.5m sheet of the stuff propping up the garage wall.

Actually, it's black in keeping with the monochrome color scheme.

Has anyone had success using double sided tape instead of tapping holes in the fender?  I'm a bit reluctant to drill holes in my baby.

Extendas usually come with double-sided tape, so I think you'd be okay using it. Just get the extra sticky stuff.

Double sided tape is OK but I normally fit my extenders with a line of Polyurethane sealant that is used to seal/bond car panels onto the chassis. It's cheap at around £5 a tube and very strong. Make sure everything is clean and hold in place overnight with a couple of spring clamps. I'm not keen on drilling holes in my bikes so this stuff works for me, I even bonded the VW factory mudflaps to my California rear bumper.

I used this on my R1200RS too.
