Naturally we are better off for riding. The very thought of it, the start of pulling on gear opening the garage, wheeling the bike out ready, every little thing we do, creates the euphoria our brains enjoy and excel at because of that very experience. They that don't, well. That explains much of what ails this world.

Interesting article.  Motorcycles vs automobiles, I can compare to the difference between sailors and boaters.  One is heavily process oriented, and the other, if anything, is end result(destination) oriented.

Obviously, those who engage in process oriented activities will naturally have higher levels of brain function related to the activity.  Perhaps, people who have highly active brains gravitate to process oriented activities to satisfy the need to be mentally involved.

God I hope so, must tell the wife I've got a highly active brain, (not just the imagination either) and I need to ride because of it. Thanks for that pearler of a description.

Thanks for this article Chocolate - exactly the propaganda I need to convince my work colleagues that I was better off for riding a motorbike...and will be again. 

Whilst it is preaching to the converted, the benefits and symptoms described are exactly what I experienced when I traded my drive to work for a ride to work a few years back...and it's great to know that day dreaming of riding some where nice during work hours rather than thinking about work is also improving my brain function - I guess that is the basis of meditation!
