The Hyundai X3 SOHC injectors were recommended to replace the Bosch units....I bought some second hand ones and sure enough they work ok....but here is the new ones for $50 each....

If unsure call them and discuss the similarities or do as I did get some used ones from the wreckers and try them first...
I have heard that ED - EL Falcon injectors also work....but cannot confirm...

If you find something else that works let us all know....good luck.

The ford injectors that interchange are from the 5lt V8 and not the 6 cyl which have different flow rates.
If you can get the injectors that have the 4 hole pintle apparently they give a power boost and better economy due to better atomization of the fuel.

Been trying to find some numbers and I will post here first.  The manfacturers guard the tech info very carefully because there are a lot of overlaps and they dont want us to do anything except buy OEM gear.

Ordered these yesterday, as I saw they were being shipped from Turkey with cheap postage. Have to wait for the spring to test them live, but I will be doing a "lab setup" to check spray pattern etc. in December.
I do wish there were more info on these Standard Motor Parts than just a cross reference number...

Still getting the bike together.

Can you describe in detail the feel of the new injectors?

Bearing in mind my old ones where blocked from deposits off the fuel rail...previously I had my old injectors "proffessionally cleaned", at the time I had issues with getting the bike to tick over from cold....
With the new injectors, tickover was much improved. Revving the bike sounded turbine smooth in all states of engine "hot or cold". at 6000 revs its like swithching over to TURBO mode with a huge rush of fuel going in. Accelleration superb at this point. Smoother but not much difference before this. I reckon MPG is slightly better with the new injectors, but probably down a bit compared with original expensive new ones. I only get 40 uk mpg, and ride hard in london. Today I collect my bike after new TB rubbers replaced, and TB's cleaned, The ex BMW mecho always balances TB,s after. I'll report any major benefits.
My bike was stolen rcovered last summer, and as it had had lots of remedial work done (clutch, ram suspension, new cpu, oil pump, fuel lines etc etc) - I decided to use the insurance cash to buy the bike back and replace panels with resprayed ones including cockpit and get it up to scratch. I agreed a price with my mechanic, sourced the bodywork, and spent the balance of insurance cash on a trip to sunny Eygpt.
Now it will be A1 with everthing working I'll be loaved to part with it - although I may be tempted to buy a newer FJR1300 at some stage......
Returned yesterday and collect bike later today with all work done. cant wait, will post pics at some point .

Colin

Hi all,

Has anyone had there Injectors professionally cleaned.?  I have my K1 units out, and looked online for clean/service people, found and spoke to a company in Auckland, about $50 each NZ dollars to test, strip, ultrasonic clean, reassemble, new rubbers and test... What do you think, worth doing or not..?
Bike is a 01 with 60k kilometers, has sat around a bunch over its life...

Cheers Jeremy

I've had a set of K100 2V injectors cleaned. $25AU each. Ultrasonically cleaned, new "O" rings and pintle cap thingo, tested and hit with a bit of black paint.

Haven't used them yet...they're the spare set for the Oz forum members in case of an emergency.

If you have access to an ultrasonic cleaner you can do it yourself. You can measure the ohms, replace the "O" rings and pintle cap and give them a bit of paint. You just can't check the flow rate unless you have the right equipment. Someone will jump on me here if I'm wrong. Probably the best you can do is compare the flow rate against each injector.

You can't "repair/rebuild" them as such. Bosch says so.

Edit: Hey Jeremy, why don't you run a couple of cans of injector cleaner through the tank?

I have my own ultrasonic cleaner but all I used to do was use a 9 volt smoke alarm battery (continuous 12 volts fries the coil) to open the pintle valve and squirt come carb cleaner, let it sit for 1/2 hour then flush the cleaner out and put new O-rings and screen filter and pintle cap and reinstall.
The injectors can't be dismantled any further than removing the screen, O-rings and pintle cap they are a sealed unit.

BlaKey, Cheers for your reply, and yea i was going to do the cans of injector cleaner, but as i have the bike in a lot of bits, having a deep clean and service, and the injectors on the bench free, thought mite be a good call to get them done, Im yet to look, but figure new ones, or something better if there is such, will be another arm an a leg to buy, so hence asking what others have done... Very Happy

Yeah, you'll feel the difference if you're running the OEM's that your bike rolled off the line with.

$80.00 USD, don't know what that'd translate to OZ though.

Im running K1100 injectors. Have no idea of performance/economy vs stock as I have never ridden a stock K100.

I have 2 sets of K100 injectors in unknown condition if anyone requires them.

I have had my 1100 injectors professionally cleaned for $25 a pop. New o rings and caps as people above have said.

I also had 1 injector completely fail and the mechanic didint know why. It did not open no matter what we tried.

I use these guys BONVU for all those not to Aus shippers in the USA. Surprising what they will actually remail for you. Take advantage of the vendors  free shipping to Texas and BOVU foward it on.too easy. takes a little longer and is trackable.  Depends how much you really want the items. In most cases it still works out ok and still cheaper than buying from AUZ fleecers.

Just looking at postage. $44 or $19

Each additional item free. That makes a good deal.

Did a search for Bosch OEM# and came up with these from Alibaba.com.
Bosch OEM# 0280150210 Original single hole. These look to be made in Japan
Bosch OEM# 0280155870 Newer 4 hole nozzle. Prices seem to vary.

I'd be up for a set of 4 hole injectors also

Questions
- Anyone ordered anything thru these suppliers?
- If changing to 4 hole injector, does the engine need to be retuned?

Cheers

I guess you have to remember that the injectors of an 8 valve squirt almost directly at the back of the inlet valve,  around the circumference close to the valve stem ....meanwhile the operation is 4 squirts per cycle on a k100  which doesn't leave a lot of time  for things to settle inside the induction path .....fills that void with a fuel mix of sorts ,,,,,but it works well in any case

it makes sense to me that better atomisation and moved to around the outer edge of the valve circumference  could transfer to better torque curve in the long run

keep in mind also that the 16 valve injectors sit a lot higher in the induction path ( inside the  bottom rubber throttle body connect rubbers in excess of  30 mm or higher in fact  ) so could fill the inlet path with a more atomised fuel supply a little better ...

the post showing the difference between the 4 hole and single hole is a good example .....but I haven't heard of documented results

but having said that, the manufacturers that have moved to the new technologies  show a ever increasing kw outputs for the same size motor ...generally

just my thoughts

That video looks good, I like the 4 hole spray an atomisation, so my K1 which is a 16 valve, could do with some, and as they are less expensive than getting my original factory fitted in 1991 jobs cleaned, shall try get a set...

I think the 16v K has a different setup. The injectors are in a slightly different position. The OEM# is stamped on the side of the injector casing. For the K100 1 hole injector it's Bosch OEM 0280155870. I think the 16v engines have a 4 hole injector but don't quote me on that.

Cheers
