Hi all,
I'm looking for a K1 in nice condition.
I'd like the seat hump with it and low miles prefered.

Thanks,
Mike.

Thanks for the nod Olaf.
I've looked on eBay but they seem a bit pricey-or is it me that's not noticed a rise in K1 prices?

The K1 does seem to have a premium.

I picked mine up a couple of years ago for what I thought was a reasonable price.

And you can also chip the K1.

There has been a significant rise as far as I can see. I don't see you getting anything under £5k now. A few not so good ones crop up from time to time, or ones with high miles. A mint one will go more.

Thanks for that.
I've got it in my watch list and will be placing a bid.
I actually wanted a red one so it might work out OK.

Any advice on how I introduce Big Red to the Mrs if I win the auction?

My son bought himself a 2005 VFR 800 last weekend. Rode it over to my place where its parked on the patio. 'Dads got a new bike and can we store it at our place?' he says at home.......

Then again I recall reading someone's life story about when he bought a bike and his then fiancée told him it was the bike or her. He still has the bike.

I got away with the K because t wasn't much money and no one can say to sell it because we need the money.

So this last option may be the best one. Many years back I bought a Honda CD175. The seller had been put off the road for 2 years for drink driving and decided to store the bike. Unfortunately for him he also decided to protect it and hand painted the entire with red lead paint. Then he got his licence back but couldn't remove the stuff. I was stuck for cash at the time and bought it for small money as it looked awful but ran fine. Discovered I could get the stuff off quickly with a little elbow grease and a cleaning compound I had at home. In  2 weeks I had it all off and what looked like a brand new bike emerged from underneath. It was only just over a year old when he stored it but by the time I had done my bit it was like it came out of the showroom. Not suggesting you use red lead but a little coloured cling film or such like carefully applied could make it look like a good project bike.

In truth its a good investment and not likely to lose you money. Even if you choose to ride it the bike will probably cost less than a new similar spec bike

I say probably because the condition looks to be completely like new and some have shown up with £15,000 asking prices.

Hi Trapper,
I'm the top bid at the moment but reserve not met.
We'll have to see how it pans out as we've had an offer accepted on a rental investment property today so I'll not be going all out at this point in time-shame.

I'll never get my bum on a K1 at this rate!

When I had 2 K bikes, my wife said: "Another one is a case for a divorce"
I got the 3rd one few years ago, and we are still married.  Very Happy

Just tell her that you hesitate between getting a full body tattoos or buying a new bike and see what she prefers. After that (I imagine the answer) you can tell her: "This was your choice"

Hi Trapper,
Thanks for the heads up on that K1 but you couldn't give me that bike.
Restoration would cost more than a nice example as there seem to be vital and expensive parts missing.

I'm off the idea at the moment as my Brick project is swallowing all my spare time.

Mike.
